“This compact mixer takes a straightforward, no-frills approach to the task at hand, and both sound and build quality inspire confidence.”

Soundcraft have unveiled another addition to the rapidly growing new Soundcraft family, the multi-format low-cost EPM mixers. Performing Musican Magazine this month review the largest of the family, the 12-channel EPM12.

The emphasis with the Soundcraft EPM series is very firmly on quality build and audio performance, with an easy to understand control surface uncluttered by unnecessary facilities.

“It’s a simple, uncomplicated mixer, without many bells or whistles – but all the essential functionality is present and my first impression was of a neat, compact desk that had a quality look and feel”.

“The sound is very easy to shape and the EQ controls are gentle and ‘linear’ enough to make fine-tuning possible in any application where I would be likely to use this desk”.

“The whole thing weighed in at 5.8kg on my parcel scale, and even in a flight case it’s truly portable and no bigger than your average executive briefcase”.

“It may be – to quote the manufacturers – their “most cost-effective mixing solution”, but cheap and cheerful or bargain basement it certainly isn’t, and it very much sounds and looks like apiece of pro gear to me. This diminutive mixer is a great example of what you can do without bells and whistles”.
