About the Role


Due to an exciting new venture, we are looking for a creative and tenacious Business Development Manager within our southern region. This person will build, maintain and develop relationships with live equipment rental and production companies, alongside building a network of relationships with consultants and end users, with the purpose of growing profitable sales across our portfolio of Live brands and propositions.


What you will be doing in this role


  • Agree with Sales Director key objectives and undertake concrete activities to achieve them.
  • Closely align with Live brands to collaborate on activities designed to drive business.
  • Closely align with internal Live departments to help drive business.
  • Represent Live at trade shows and exhibitions.
  • As required attend vendor training events.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of customers, their organisational structure, decision makers, financial status and other relevant information and provide regular updates of same.
  • Achieve personal acceptance by customers and establish strong inter-dependent working relationships.
  • Follow up sales leads, produce quotations, negotiate, and close sales contracts in line with company policy. Report on status of all leads as required and on request and ensuring that the pipeline is up to date.
  • Successfully defend the company against the activities of competitors and advise Sales Director as necessary of all competitor activity that affects the company in any way.
  • Build and maintain strong sales technical understanding of all brands and the Live proposition in general.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the Midwich Group in order to promote this where necessary with business partners.


What you will bring to the role


  • Proven previous experience in a field-based sales/business development role.
  • Relevant experience in the live events sector with an understanding of the target customers and marketplace.
  • Experience in sales of technical products.
  • Previous experience in building and developing the market share of a brand/product.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Confidence and ability to communicate at all levels, internally and externally.
