Instead of going down the touch screen route with endless menus and pages of parameters, DigiTech has put every control you’ll ever need right there on the top of the unit”.
“Control over key signature recognition (which the unit needs to generate the correct harmony accompaniment) is handled by a built in analysis microphone and DigiTech’s “musIQ” technology, which is turned on and off via the dedicated Live Adapt button. This can also detect the tempo of the tune you’re playing, so that any delay or gating effect used in a preset is changed to suit - pretty cool”.
“A special commendation must be made here to the person on the design team that thought of adding the next two features - what about a button (Sound Check) that lets you record a little “check, one-two..” or a short vocal phrase and then keeps looping it to help you audition effects and set the level of the PA if you’re on your own?…and while we’re there, instead of writing down the preset numbers for each song on the setlist (if you’ve remembered the Sharpie), what about a dedicated Setlist function that lets you put up to 20 presets in any order you want and then you use the footswitches to go up and down?…yes, I thought so too”.
