Custom-built Austrian Flamed Walnut Larrivée P-09 and LV-09 ordered by renowned Surrey retailer
As part of Larriveé's 50th Anniversary celebrations, Jean Larrivée built a number of exquisite models for display at NAMM 2017. Two models featured rare Austrian Flamed Walnut, built from wood Jean personally visited and chose at high altitude in Austria. The Larrivée P-09 and LV-09 custom models were quickly snapped up by UK dealer Guitar Village.
Jean Larrivée discovered this rare wood during one of his wood sourcing visits to Austria. Jean purchased enough to build 4 guitars and after realising how fantastic they looked and sounded he returned to purchase the entire log. Jean picks up the story, "Walnut is not common in Austria. It is well known for Spruce but not Walnut, especially with so much figuring like this. The odds of finding a tree like this are very small so there will be some very happy guitar buyers out there”.
As well as the stunning solid Walnut top, back and sides the LV-09 model features a beautiful Shamrock Vine fretboard inlay. Both models have Larrivée Ivy headstock inlays.
