Teenage Engineering's 'home-build’ analogue modular synth series now available in the UK with a host of new upgrades
Teenage Engineering and UK distributor Sound Technology Ltd are pleased to announce immediate availability of the Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator Modular Series. The series consists of three models, the POM-16, POM-170, and POM-400.
Each kit comes with all of the parts needed to build the project. Included in these flat packed analogue synthesizers are everything from a powder coated aluminium chassis to an illustrated build guide with instructions and bend angles. When bending is complete, move on to mount the modules, snap the wire connectors and finalise your build with knobs and rubber feet.
The Teenage Engineering POM-400 is a home-build analogue synthesizer with 3 oscillators, noise, random generator, 2 envelopes, 2 VCA’s, LFO, filter, mixer, speakerbox, power pack and a 1-16 step sequencer. The complete kit includes the powder-coated chassis, 16 modules, 15 patch cables, screwdriver, and an illustrated build guide.
What's new
- Added PO-Sync output, which allows for easy patching out and into the PO series. Use this jack to sync modular tempo with any pocket operator.
- Speaker volume knob adjusted for intuitive control
- Level on sequencer clock out adjusted to 5v from 10v
- Output amplitude on white noise adjusted so now it can trigger envelopes
- PSU has been improved, it is now more stable and offers a longer battery life
- Oscillators have been retrimmed, giving an improved audio range to play with
- Increased size of screw holes on powder coated aluminium chassis for easy building
The Teenage Engineering POM-170 is a home-build analogue monophonic synthesizer with built-in programmable sequencer. The complete kit includes the powder coated chassis, keyboard, oscillator, filter, envelope, LFO, VCA, speakerbox, power distro, powerpack, a screwdriver, 8 patch cables, and an illustrated build guide.

The Teenage Engineering POM-16 is a home-build stand-alone keyboard with individual tuneable keys and a programmable step sequencer. Note: The unit is designed to send CV, Gate, MIDI, and PO Sync to control the POM-400 or other synthesizers. These signals do not make sounds.
