Highlighting the ongoing success and popularity of Soundcraft’s Vi1 FOH console, Base Event Production has added the award-winning, uber- compact desk to its fleet of cutting-edge equipment.
Specialising in the high profile corporate events market, whilst also catering for concerts and touring productions, Base Event Productions was awarded The Medway Business Award for Excellence in 2009, and prides itself on its exceptional turnkey service.
With an enviable venue line up including, The Sheraton Park Lane, Blenheim Palace, Chiswick House and Claridges, the Soundcraft Vi1 was an ideal choice because of its small footprint and cross compatibility with the Vi4 and Vi6.
“One of the Vi1’s up and coming projects is covering production for a potential reformation of 80's pop icons Imagination. If it all goes ahead, the FOH engineer has specified a Vi6 or a Vi1 on any smaller gigs. This means that mixes can be effortlessly transferred between the two consoles”, explained Base Event Production MD, Paul Sieloff.
He added: “We assessed our inventory and felt that we should hold equipment that won’t sacrifice quality for size, whilst still maintaining absolute flexibility. As we don't essentially supply equipment for dry hire, we have to make sure that the kit we invest in will be out earning its money as much as possible. Currently the Vi1 is fulfilling corporate duties at venues, stately homes and marquees around the UK.”
Base Event Production is geared up to cover any type of audio project, but has naturally grown into the high profile corporate events market. With this in mind, the Vi1’s compact footprint and lightweight have proved invaluable.
“The Lexicon effects and BSS EQ are fantastic! One of the other great features is its 24 outputs, which make running several stereo in ear mixes far more realistic and achievable. Plus its exceptional audio quality and analogue feel is popular with engineers, making the Vi1 very much in demand,” enthused Paul Sieloff.
